Fauna & Benny
Fauna joined us from Pacific Pug Rescue three months ago. At 12 years of age she came into our family as a sweet quiet lady who had difficulty walking due to weak hind legs. Since that time she has shifted to asserting herself as leader of the pack, chasing kongs, chewing on toys, learning to play tug of war, and chasing cats. Unfortunately her cat of choice weighs 20 pounds and no amount of pawing at him, chewing on him, jumping on him, or barking will make him run. She has become such a character and an absolute love. And most of the time her back legs work pretty darn well.

Sadly, about 6 weeks after Fauna joined us we suddenly lost one of our 5-year-old pugs to pug encephalitis. To deal with our grief (and that of our pugs) we again turned to PPR and foster parents Janet and Dale. Another trip to Vancouver and 9-month-old Benny came to play with Fauna and Jazzy. It is hard to believe at this point that Benny was a neglected and abused puppy. Thanks to the start he got fostering with Janet and Dale he is the happiest, most enthusiastically affectionate guy that you could imagine. He has discovered that the dog toys don't disappear and he doesn't have to hoard them, so Jazzy has her toys back (when Fauna doesn't have them!). His motto is "I am Puppy, hear me roar" but he is very smart and is learning manners.

Thank you everyone at PPR for rescuing these great guys and for letting us adopt them.
